In today’s complex practice environments, working as part of an interdisciplinary team offers tremendous potential for holistic, client-centered care. Yet it also brings ethical challenges that require thoughtful navigation.
The NASW Code of Ethics (2.03): Interdisciplinary Collaboration) reminds us:
“Social workers who are members of an interdisciplinary team should participate in and contribute to decisions that affect the well-being of clients... Social workers should
attempt to resolve disagreements in a respectful and constructive manner that
considers the perspectives of others and is consistent with the NASW Code of Ethics.”
